Life Threatening Shortcuts

Mt. Timpanogos is an amazing, very popular, and fun hike/climb. My buddy, Steve Mackay and I decided we didn't have enough time to take the normal 8 hour roundtrip trek. We had to cut that in half it we were going to summit, drive back to Provo, and go on our dates that evening. Hear you see the peak behind me. We scrambled and climbed right up that bad dog...quite the shortcut.

This is the view at about 3/4 of the way up our shortcut. We had an amazing view of the Northeast bowl. Right about here it started getting crazy.

It was time to bust out the ropes and start climbing...alright so this isn't really part of the climb...but it felt like it. This is actually a shot of me leading a climb in Rock Canyon, just east of Provo.

When we reached the top we had an amazing view of the entire Wasatch Front. As we started down we realized we had created a daunting task. It became much more treacherous then coming up. The loose shale rock just about spelled our doom on several occasions. But we made it to the top and down in less then 4 hours. A new record I believe.
